Independence Group NL (IGO) has announced the first development ore mined at a project in Western Australia.

IGO announced the first development ore at the Nova Deposit, part of the Nova Project, with mining of both disseminated and breccia ore in operation since early June 2016.

The Nova Project, located in the Fraser Range, is an exploration project at the Nova Deposit which has an estimated 273,000 tonnes of nickel, 112,000 tonnes of copper and 9,000 tonnes of cobalt.

Construction on the Nova Project was 90% complete at the end of May 2016, with a projected production date of December 2016.
