A copper gold project, located in the south of Canada, could move one step closer to production as an environmental review of the operation has been completed.

The Ajax Mine, located south of Kamloops in Canada, is a new open pit copper and gold mine that could produce up to 99,000 ounces of gold annually over a 23-year life of mine.

KGHM Ajax Mining, a Canadian mining company with a footprint that stretches across Canada, Greenland and Poland, looks to develop the Ajax Mine into a world class mine that is safe, profitable and environmentally responsible.

The mine itself has already been opposed twice before and with the B.C Environmental Assessment office completing its review and handed it over to provincial government, KGHM has until 4 January 2017 at the very latest to receive a final decision.

Should the mine get the all important go ahead, KGHM will look to create more than 500 jobs and generate upwards of $500mn in estimated tax revenue.
