The nominations for the 2017 Australian Mining Prospect Awards are officially open.

Launched in 2004, the Annual Australian Mining Prospect Awards have become the most esteemed and prestigious awards program for the mining and minerals processing industry in Australia.

Australian Mining is Australia's leading mining technology magazine and as such continues to provide the latest and most useful information to help miners become more productive. This role places Australian Mining in an excellent position to host awards that champion a safe, sustainable and more productive industry.

What do we know about the 2017 Australian Mining Prospect Awards?

This year marks the 12th annual prospect awards. They will officially recognise companies and individuals that have shown innovation and superior performance during 2015/16.

An industry judging panel will select from the many hundreds of awards entries across 12 key industry related categories.

The judge’s results are in

A panel of judges with expertise in the Australian mining industry will determine the finalists and winners in each category on the basis on demonstrated innovation and excellence in outcome.

And the winners are…

Finalists will be published in Australian Mining and on miningaustralia.com.au.

Winning companies will be presented with their trophies and certificates at an awards presentation ceremony and dinner at a Sydney venue in October.

Winners will also feature in an award wrap up in the December edition of Australian Mining.

Nominations can be made by any mine personnel or any mining company/contractor (supplier in the case of Innovative Mining Solution) associated with the Australian mining industry.

Entry into the 12th Annual Australian Mining Prospect Awards is FREE. The nominations can be submitted electronically, via email or posted on a disk.

The 12 categories are…

Community Interaction
an award for a miner, business, or individual that best supports mining and the local or wider community.

Contract Miner of the Year
an award recognising excellence in contract mining, engineering, projects, and services over the last 12 months.

Contribution to Mining
an award recognising lifetime achievement or those have gone above and beyond in the last two years.

Hard Rock Mine of the Year
recognition for a hard rock mine that is performing well or has carried out an innovative project or program.

Coal Mine of the Year
recognition for a coal mine that is performing well or has carried out an innovative project or program

Excellence in Environmental Management
recognition for a mine, company, or project that has developed or carried out an innovative, environmentally focused program.

Excellence in Mine Safety, oh&s
recognition for a mine, company, or project that has developed or carried out a program that increased safety, removes risk, or cuts worker issues on a project or mine.

Mine Manager of the Year
recognition for a manager, superintendent or leader who has motivated, mentored, and lead their team or site to make significant changes to safety, efficiency, or productivity.

Minerals Processing of the Year
recognition for a mine, company, or project that has developed or carried out an innovative or unique minerals processing program that increased efficiency, productivity, or safety.

Innovative Mining Solution
recognition for a mine, company, or project that has developed a unique mining solution that has increased efficiency, productivity, or safety

Australian Mine of the Year
recognition for an Australian mine that is performing well or has carried out an innovative project or program
