Arizona Mining receives key permits for Taylor deposit
A mineral exploration and development company, with a key focus on its Arizona deposit, has received three key state permits as the company progresses towards an extensive drill program.
Arizona Mining announced that it has received three key state permits for its flagship Taylor deposit, located in Santa Cruz County, Arizona.
The permits, granted by the State of Arizona, include the Aquifier Protection Permit (APP), the Arizona Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permit (AZPDES) and the Dam Safety Permit.
Through the granting of these permits, Arizona Mining will be able to commence construction of a lined tailings storage facility, an active water treatment plant and an underdrain collection pond.
Construction will begin immediately, as Arizona Mining looks set to complete a feasibility study in mid-2018.

“The receipt of these key permits is an important milestone in executing our strategy for the Taylor Deposit. In addition to cleaning up the historic liabilities on the Trench property, these three facilities will serve as the foundation for future operations planned for the site,” said Jim Gowans, President and CEO. “Permitting with the state agencies was a comprehensive and transparent process. We are very appreciative of the interaction with the regulators as it improved our plans and benefited both parties.”
The Taylor deposit is described as the world’s “best zin development project” and was awarded as the best global discovery for 2018.
The Taylor Deposit is a zinc-lead-silver carbonate replacement deposit with a resource of 8.6 million tons of zinc, lead and silver, and Arizona mining is targeting a production date for 2020.
