Austin reports AUS$30mn mining equipment contract wins

It’s not every day you can announce a mind-blowing AUS$30mn in contract wins, but that’s exactly what Austin Engineering has succeeded in procuring. And it is revelling in it. The global mining equipment manufacturer is set to design, develop, and deliver its latest mining innovations across the globe to projects in Australia, Chile, and the US, ready to take the mining equipment sector by storm. 

Contracts secure supply of mining equipment across the globe

One of the company’s contracts - worth a cosy AUS$4.5mn - will see Austin Engineering provide five underground mine chute structures to PT Freeport’s ongoing operations in Indonesia following the manufacturer’s success in leaving a good impression on PT Freeport after previously supplying their past projects. Work has kicked off already and is predicted to be wrapped up before the end of 2021. The contract aligns nicely with Austin’s ambitions to develop its mining products’ availability and expand its diversity of equipment. 

Similarly, the manufacturer secured a AUS$10mn mining equipment contract with KGHM for the secured three-year supply of equipment to its Chilean mines. Additional contracts with NRW Civil & Mining and Perenti Global Ltd have also been signed, mirroring the same terms as KGHM’s for the provision of truck bodies and innovative mining equipment to be used to streamline operations.

CEO and Managing Director at Austin Engineering, David Singleton, is over the moon with the contract wins, eager to flaunt the company’s capabilities and reasons behind its continued success.

We are expecting a strong order flow to continue through this half of the year.

“The mine chute structure contract with Freeport Indonesia reflects Austin’s increasing focus on new products and adjacent value streams. This is in line with our global strategy to employ more innovation and technology-led design solutions for our customers and add further products to our suite in the coming years. Under our strategy, we have commenced manufacturing upgrades to our Kewdale facility to improve quality and efficiency, with upgrades to the Batam facility to follow.”

Austin Engineering’s future looks bright, and the company is eager to use the contract wins to propel its success further across the globe, focusing on its weaker region in North America and continuing its achievements in the Asia Pacific region, which accounted for almost 70% of its profits in FY’21.
