Making our list at number two of the world’s biggest mining companies is BHP Billiton. The Australian-based mining company earned a whopping $67.83 billion in revenues in 2013 from copper, iron ore, silver, coal, aluminium, manganese, nickel and uranium.
BHP operates some of the biggest mines in the world including Samarco iron ore operation in Brazil, the copper mine in Chile, and three of the world’s biggest coal mines in Australia and Colombia.
