The Mt. Arthur mine is an open-cut coal mine located in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales, Australia. Located near the town of Muswellbrook, the Mt. Arthur mine produces thermal coal for power generation. As of June 2013, the mine had 1,049 million tons of coal (585 million tons proven and 464 million tons probable).

Owned and operated by BHP Billiton, the mine consists of mainly two open cut mining areas – the Northern Open Cut and the Southern Open Cut. There are more than 20 coal seams mined at the site. The estimated reserve life of the mine is 40 years.
